  • The 100 cities being developed under the Smart Cities Mission (SCM) have so far tendered over 6,200 projects worth about Rs 1.82 trillion. Work orders have been issued for about 90 per cent of the projects. Over 50 per cent of these projects have been completed so far, the majority under Rounds I and II and Fast Track cities. Under Rounds III and IV, the completion rate is only about 20 per cent, which presents several opportunities.
  • The 40 cities selected under Rounds III and IV comprise over 35 per cent of the projects being implemented under the mission. Cities such as Rajkot, Thiruvananthapuram, Naya Raipur, Tiruppur, Gangtok, Patna, Srinagar, Sagar, Karnal, Shimla, Silvassa, Itanagar, Saharanpur, Bilaspur, Jhansi and Diu are actively looking at implementing projects in the areas of governance, communication, safety and security, smart mobility, smart lighting, smart parking, city beautification and affordable housing.
  • These cities present tremendous opportunities for contractors, developers, technology solution providers, equipment suppliers, system integrators, and design and project management consultants.
  • The mission of this conference is to discuss the progress, new initiatives and upcoming opportunities in the 40 smart cities being developed under Rounds III and IV of SCM. The conference will also showcase the most promising technologies and solutions.
